What i’ve learned

So , it has been almost 3 weeks since Music Master Studio started ..

What I’ve learned so far ..simple ..

Before I started this , (as in while I was studying lah )

I can think of all sort of marketing gimmicks , catchy names ,

Designs , colors , logos …basically ..

I had LOADS of ideas ..like how my ideal Guitar store should be ..Ideas kept popping out every few minutes

I even gave ideas and suggestions to Big store owners ..i thought I pandai pandai lah ..hahaha..

It is always like that , before you graduate ..you think you are the best ..

you are going to OWN the corporate world ..

and when you actually get out and work ,

you realized there are 10,000 people that are much better than you ..

You see , you can give 1001 suggestions ,

To tell people WHAT TO DO to improve their business

and How to improve their business

when your balls is not on the line ..

Its not that i cannot accept criticism , suggestions and new ideas..

but when 9 out of 10 people who walks in your shop , and tells you WHAT you SHOULD had done..or how should you be doing this …bla bla bla

it becomes abit ..”yeah yeah yeah , sure whatever …heard that before you are not the first” ..know what i mean ?

people always wanna appear smart-ASS

During August , when the whole MUSIC MASTER Planning kicks in ..

When I am actually playing the real game with my balls ..

When I put my balls on the line

When YOU put YOUR balls on the line

SUDDENLY

you feel so vulnerable

you realized , you can actually fail

you realized , your marketing gimmick doesn’t work for everybody

you realized , it is costly to fail and you CANNOT make the smallest mistake

you realized , you don’t know a THING about running a business

you realized , everybody is wayyyy better than you , and they know Much MORE than you

You wish you can just quit this shit , and go for a stable job , but it is too late ..

You become a pussy , not that young and aggressive entrepreneur anymore..

Its Do or Die

Then I tell you what happens , you will have NO IDEA

When you are suppose to come out with a design by 6pm , NO IDEA

When you are suppose to design a website , NO IDEA ( see www.musicmasterstudio.com , still empty )

When you are suppose to create a flyer by the next day , everything is NOT WORKABLE

I think , to be successful , you need to have FRESH IDEAS popping out like no where , New concepts , New structure ..always looking forward for something new and taking risk..

So , please for the last time

WRITE DOWN YOUR IDEAS WHEN YOU HAVE ONE

you are going to need your Old ideas ..when you are scared …

when everything doesn’t work , and you need to do something about it ..

Because in the end , it is YOUR Business , YOUR own masterpiece …

Do it your way , not what other people think how it should be ..how it should run ..how this and how that…

screw “what if i made a mistake” mentality …we learn from our mistakes..

all you need is to gather both your old ideas and new ideas , and see which works

How can we relate this to music ?

Your best licks are discovered during your practice session

Or Inspired when you are watching your guitar heroes ..

Sounded good , nice ..repeat it again ..and guess what ..

You never write it down ..

YOU FAILED

Later when you go for jamming , when it is your turn to improvise

You go BLANK ..don’t know what to play

YOU FAILED

My point is

Ideas , that “aha” moments ,a powerful question , thoughts , new Licks , new concepts ,new techniques ,new inspiration , new songs are

…. priceless

whether it is a year ago , a month ago , minutes ago , seconds ago ..

Appreciate it like how you appreciate the love of your life

Do not throw it away

Old Ideas + New Ideas = awesomeness
