Guitar Stores in Bangkok

Well , pretty sad lah ..i promised myself ..NO NO GUITARS during my holidays..

but …i passed by a few..it was sooooo tempting …so ..damn ..

you cannot take pictures in a guitar shop ..(applies to most guitar shop overseas lah..if you have been to guitar center or sam ash , you will know what i’m talking about)

..and ..i am not gonna post the address of the guitar shop…go google yourself ..plenty of information there..this is not a promotion ..

i was walking at some random shopping mall..and suddenly i saw a super big banner ..

Mesa ? MESA ? MESA ?!!

received the “no pictures” inside warning by the sales man …walked out and take pics..

check out that maple Parker fly ..sweet !

..collections of washburn ..something Malaysia doesn’t have..

Basically , the shop carries Washburn , BC RICH and Parker Fly ..Hartke and Mesa amps ..didn’t check out the acoustic , wasn’t in the mood

Price wise ? same with here lah …Mesa Head for RM8000 ..no discount some more ..but i don’t blame them-lah , their guitar store is located in some super expensive shopping mall….their rent must be high..people still need to earn money right…

Service was fine , i don’t have too high expectations-lah.. since the salesman doesn’t speak English..

the only thing he can tell me is what country the guitar was made ..:)

i am not really a Washburn or BC RICH guitar feller tho …this is probably the “Metal axe” shop of Bangkok..

overall 7/10 ..

Found it during my walk back to my hotel..

this is my favourite among all lah …looks super attractive from outside..

Distributor for Roland ….big big sign for you .

fuhhh!!…i just got the feeling that this shop kick ass..

Why do i like this store ?

a shop that is simple , selling gears that are not predictable , always surprising , clean , friendly and lepakable

This shop carries all the “value for money” guitars …

Fernandes , Godin , Schecter , Roland …it is not those typical Sell-out Ibanez Fender profit-margin type of store …

Service was excellent , their store supervisor spoke English ..I guitar-raped that place for more than an hour..

I can see that this store sells what they believe in …plus ..i discover a new “value for money” brand..super interesting..presenting

SPEAR GUITARS

the contruction DAMN GOOD wei …reminded me of Edwards quality..no shit..

oh yea..it is made in Korea…this les paul was going for around RM800..that is a China Made SX in Malaysia man..

Spear guitars are probably the best Korean Made guitars i ever played in my life (in terms of construction)

I am sorry , i am going to rate this Above Schecter , Epiphone Korea , Washburn and Dean ..Fender Korea comes close tho..

This one RM1200 , looks like RGT220 with spalted maple

Total ownage !!! ….LP Custom with Maple fingerboard and Seymour Duncans , RM1600..

aiya..i dun like the inlays lah ..i wish it was block inlays or something

uhh..this one is ugly lah..hahah..

but i still like the guitar lah..construction chun , specs chun , appearance chun , price also chun ..

maybe i might carry it in music master..who knows ..

This shop is a lil bit more expensive than Malaysia , Roland Microcube goes for 4200baht .. NO DISCOUNT ..

but still , i like the place , the concept , the guitars , the friendly salesman..i don’t mind paying more..

oh yea , and i did bought a few things from them

LUCKY MUSIC

what a name for a music store??!!?? sounds like some cigarette brand …

yeah..was walking down street and i bump into it

are you feeling lucky ? you might find your dream guitar here…

sad thing is …the salesperson realized i was photo-raping from outside …

when i walked in ..he told me strictly no photos , no phone cams

so takda photo lah….!!! this is the best i can do ..

i think the keyboard design is damn lame ..with the flowers…flowers with PRS ? no no ..

basically , this is THE Boutique high end guitar shop in Bangkok..

all also expensive brands ..

PRS , Taylor , Brian Moore , Tom Anderson , Gibson , Martin , Vintage Tokai , Carvin ..etc..everything is above RM4000

price wise ? same same lah…RM12000 for a PRS Custom 24 ..RM9000 for a Gibson LP standard ..yeah..

i didn’t test any gears ..the whole shop layout seems to intimidating ..like they have 100000 customers a day , and i am not worth it ..(damn i feel like a chick now )

yeah , it feels like a guitar Museum , you enter and see , no touch cause you can’t afford it ..

definitely not Music Master’s Direction ..

well its okay , what to do ..Overall 4/10 …as if i never touch a PRS or a Brian Moore before :/

Conclusion

Well , i have heard shits like …guitars in Thailand is even cheaper than Singapore , dirt cheap etc etc etc…

i am sure you guys read about it before …

anyway , I am not so sure about that ..

but Guitar shops in Bangkok seems to be more or less same with KL price lah …with more variety of course..

I think i need to get my ass to Phuket , Hat Yai and all the smaller places in Thailand to hunt for the dirt cheap deals like i read on the internet ..if that is true lah .. cause i am not getting any at Bangkok
