A Simple Tip

Question :

gap , last week i tried learning this song xxx – xxx .i really liked the song and i really wana play it

firstly , i tried viewing the tabs from ultimate-guitar , then , i went nuts ,my eyes wana pop out , i couldn’t figure out the timing , the technique ..its like ..super crazy complicated ..what do you suggest ?

long time i never get emails already..muahaha..

some simple tips..

1.get guitar pro

duh , the best tab software ever created..

but , we do not want to rely too much on guitar pro lah …especially when you are a guitar teacher , a student may just print out a tab from the internet , let you hear a song , and ask you to teach him ..then you go nuts …or if you are in a rush , need to download the song file and stuff , might as well see text document right..

2.re-write the tabs

sounds pretty simple eh? it works …

re-write the tabs by

taking away the technique

you see stuffs like this in tabs …..

-8^10 , or -8(10)

this “^” above , is a symbol for bends …take a new piece of tab paper ……take it away ..

another example

-8p10 or -8/10

just write it as

-8-10 …clean without techniques ..

why?

symbols actually make things very confusing , ( ^ p / * ! ) will actually screw your life up ..

take it away , hear the song , notice where the bends , pull offs are ..DO NOT WRITE IT DOWN , but remember it in your HEAD …

everything will be clean , draw lines at every 1st count ..CREATE A TAB THAT ONLY YOU CAN UNDERSTAND

this method works much better , especially if you are a gigging 30 songs per night , and you need to sight read tabs ..i know i did loads of this when i was gigging as a pub band ..
