okay …since i mentioned it in my last post ..

let me give you

my thoughts on canon cock

ok..firstly , for people who don’t know what is canon cock …or ..people who forgotten..

heard already ?

yeah , i think it has been around for quite some time …but this song is some shit that got really really really famous thanks to yousucktube ..in fact ..i think canon rock is getting more popular than metallica among the kids ..

last time where got like that one ? last time 15 years old , just discovered metallica and megadeth ..whoa ..that time ..SUPER HOT WEI ..we felt like we discovered the best music ever ! .haha…now ..canon rock *aiyo , smack head

So , if you have been visiting to shred forums , or you talk to a pro ….

most of them will go like ..“Canon Rock is Cheap”

or ”i play with 2 fingers also can lah ..”

or “that was the most overrated , immaturish thingy-trying-too-hard-to-be-a-shred-song i ever heard ”

basically , pro players tend to bash it lah ..maybe they jealous jerryC so famous or something..and the chicks he’s getting..

my thoughts :

Canon rock is one of the most amazing shred songs ever !!

*holy shit ..gapnap , are you on crack or something ?

yeah.I can’t believe i am saying that too.I used to be a real jerryC hater..

let me tell you why

first , ask yourself , how did you became a shredder  ? (if you are not , read on and find out how)

we are getting cheaper

the process :

1.Beginner , chords and strumming

2.Get to know some rock bands and metallica , power chords and riffs

3.Start that simple Guns and Roses or Nirvana Solo , and maybe some blues riff

4.Found out about Dream Theater ..starts practicing shred , more technical lah ..

5.Found out about Satriani , Steve Vai …and you became a shredding machine

and so on ..

take a look at the 3rd and 4th process ..there is a big gap in between ..very interesting..

between the 3rd and 4th process ..

it is the point where a player either….

player a) starts shredding really well

player b) tries very hard to shred , failed and gave up . stuck at the old rock solos over and over again..

Basically , player A is the lucky one lah ..who got the talent ..who is going to go all the way..

Player B ..usually 

1.Have very minimal or no basic theory knowledge

2.Cannot alternate pick or sweep pick properly

3.struggles playing sweet child of mine solo …

4.Complaining for years , saying that he has no talent and he is too lazy to put effort ..

yeah..thats about it ..and let me tell you this ..this type of players are very very COMMON..

CANON ROCK IS THE PASSPORT TO ENTER SHRED  

listen up , especially GUITAR TEACHERS ..

Teach your students CANON ROCK …Canon Rock has the simplest

1.alternate picking , vibrato , hammer-ons , bends , Sweep picking Technique

2.Simplest Major scale application that is easy to understand ..easy theory

3.Canon Rock is somewhat mainstream and more acceptable …compared with far beyond the sun ..

4.you gotta admit , it is actually quite catchy

Once a student masters canon rock (both theory and technique)

he enters the world of shred …you can throw Petrucci , Vai , Paul Gilbert to him…and he is ready to learn ..

if your student is stuck on blues soloing , and you have no idea what to do ..

teach Canon Rock ..

and if YOU wants to shred , but you don’t know how and where to start..

learn canon rock , make sure you can play it together with the backing track…
