Hybird Picking

i suck at it ..

students , please do not ask me to teach you this . learn by yourself ..

why the hell should i use hybird picking? why can’t i replace it with legato or some other shit . got sound come out can already right ?

i am gonna drop this technique ..

today’s lesson , is gonna be quite hard to hear..it is called

GIVE UP

what ? yes ..you read it , give up ..

but not everything , give up on bullshit . like that technique above .

anyway , the point is ..when you are learning something ..

there is gonna be , 95% bullshit and 5% good shit .

you need to identify what is bullshit , and what is useful …then drop the bullshit

if you realized you are learning bullshit , you need to give it up ..fast ..

that is why most musicians , will always recommend a good guitar teacher , or a guitar mentor to at least show you what to learn and what not to learn ..

… but it is not entirely true , coz i’ve met many guitarist from ->insert mega guitar store<- learning for 3-4 years , and what their teacher taught them was complete shit ..

i can name a few bullshit

1.Learning Romance D’ Amor for 6 months

2.Learning the whole linkin park hybrid theory album for 2 years

3.Learning how to on/off an amp in a lesson

4.Learning how to hold a guitar properly in 3 lessons

so get a few good guitar friends that you can trust , ask them to lead you and tell you what is right and what is wrong .

in my experience , guitarist who relies heavily on internet lessons ..most of them are either :

a).good at their technique , but they suck at theory

especially on MODES , there are hundreds of different views on modes and its application ..i am very sure those internet bedroom guitarist are confuse as hell ..

b) good at their theory , but they have many bad habits in their techniques

common sense lah , the experience of seeing how technique is done LIVE is totally different from wank videos

why is that so ? simple , internet has 95% shit , and 5% useful lessons

gapnap.com is in the 5% ..dammit !

so give up on bullshit , and say yes to good shit

1.i do not recommend

a) ultimate-guitar lesson

b) any guitar hero videos that teaches you how to play their songs and their licks ..such as Malmsteen..

c) Cover songs demonstration ..

d) e-books that asks for 19.95 USD .. waste of time ..

2.i highly recommend Marty Friedman - Melodic Control . some very useful concepts there..

and some paul gilbert vids , such as the lesson on string bending and vibrato .
