Stolen.
I got this email today …really really sad to hear this ..
Hi,
I really need your help, as the title says above, my most-cherised Ibanez Iceman IC400 has been stolen recently, between 23/12/09 - 3/01/10, together with my buddy’s axe, an Ibanez RG7321 Fixed Bridge 7 String (last batch of Korean made Ibanez guitars). It was stolen from my apartment - Subangville Ehsan Apt., Jalan PJS 10/11, 46000 PJ (basically opposite Sunway Pyramid)
Since your network is wide, with friends, relatives, business partners in the underground scene / music equipment trading /music industry, I need your help in spreading the word about the 2 stolen guitars.
I know for a fact that my Icemen model is pretty rare in Malaysia. I bought it at Lee’s Music Centre in Kuching Sarawak, in late 2007, and they purchased it previously from Bentley Music (which had only ordered 1 unit in 2004, when the production of the IC400 was still running as demand grew due to the popularity of System of A Down, and its Iceman wielding guitarist Daron Malakian).
I love it to death and had to wait 3 years before I could afford it…now, it was stolen within 10 days of me going back to my hometown…

I’m begging for your help here. I chose to tag you guys in this plea for help, coz you guys love guitars and own/play/shred them. Naturally, you guys may be very actively involved in forums that trade/buy/sell pre-owned guitars, guitar effects, amps & other musical instruments.
- Korean made
- has a crack in paint on the lower part of the guitar near the cable input
- lots of stickers at the back
- cream coloured binding
- Trepezoid inlays, medium frets, 22
- Gibraltar II tailpiece
…I love this guitar…took me three years to get it, and within 10 days for some son-of-a-bitch to steal it!
The guitar case is made solely for this model of Icemans, so no other newer model icemans can fit…you’d have to have an IC400 / 300 / 500 / Giger / PGM600
-Korean made
- circa 2004/5 model
- Wizard II neck for 7 strings
- white binding
- has a cut in the headstock (when it hit my ceiling fan)
- Black hardware
- came in a soft-case / bag
This loss hurts very badly…
Really appreciate your time on this, and hope to hear from yuo guys soon! Hope the underground community will help too…
I’ve also attached a picture of the stolen guitars, its the one on the left & middle. My other axe, the ICT700 Iceman ws at my cousin’s place so it didn’t get nicked.
Whether the thieves realize that what they’ve stolen are rare guitars, I’m counting on the spread of this news to make people aware of it, and whoever they offer to sell it to will alert me or you ..
I’ve also sent it to the Guitar Store branch in Damansara Perdana to get the toggle switch changed previously (in early 2009).

Actually , where this guy stays , is damn near to my place . approx 15 minutes drive ?
Well , i hope my blog has enough musician readers to help this poor dude out . Beware when you are buying an ICEMAN or a RG 7 string .
One thing i won’t understand is , why the hell are people stealing guitars ? Its not like some high end WATCH , or some expensive gaming specs notebook or some Gold …i wonder , what people do after they steal the guitar ? Sell it ?
SELL IT ? The music market is soooo small in Malaysia ..If they are not selling it in Jamtank , Lowyat or Mudah ..chances are they are selling it to a random dude for dirt cheap . uhh..is it worth it? for a couple of hundred bucks ?

when ppl r desperate, they will do and steal anything. a friend’s friend was stabbed (and the person died after that), but all the robber took was a bag with files and check book. :T

I’m quite paranoid about break-ins…I should consider getting musical instrument insurance instead.

and its not like health insurance where you get back the money at the end of the day ok .
