Guitar lessons in Malaysia

Wait ….i think every town has its own music school lah ..
Ok , let me get this straight . There is no such thing as “this music school” or “that music center” has the best guitar teachers around ..

Because every teacher is AN individual , NOT A COMPANY , every teacher has his own style and he IS unique . A great teacher may work in Guitar Collection today , after ONE year he might switch to Guitar Store..

Plus , A great guitarist is not always a great teacher .

The easiest way to find out is  , the learning atmosphere . Go to a place where GREAT guitarist hangs out . Go for a teacher that BRINGS his student together .You know why?

You will learn MUCH MORE with this formula

A group of learning guitarist + a great teacher to guide you .

Compared with , 1 on 1 , two way communication , traditional teacher-student method .

Also , a simpler way to find out where is good for you is much the teacher inspires you ? if he inspires you alot , you might want to stick with him for a long time .

phewwww…that was a quick list that came through my mind .

Yeah , feel free to drop me an email or a comment , whoever that is worth mentioning (or did i miss any?) , or if you want YOUR SHOP to be in the list ..

The others that i mentioned . Nice free advertising link for you eh?  You owe me a meal :P

  4. vincent · March 4, 2010

awesome. thanks. now i can go check out guitars at places i don’t even know. didin’t been to bentley in mutiara damansara.

  5. ariffdude · March 4, 2010

eh i don’t think lelong is a good place to look for guitars. It’s crowded with you know who’s ad.

  6. gapnap · March 4, 2010

@vincent. wtf ? katak bawah tempurung bro ! ..haha . Dude , don’t mind me teasing you , at least i didn’t go ..”oh i also didn’t been to any guitar shops in PJ” ..being humble ok.

@ariff . Its still F up , but its getting better . Wan Choon Store died already . I do not see him around anymore..

Anyway , no matter how screwy up lelong is , they are still the safest in Malaysia , because of safetrade . Many of my first timer customers(those form other states who are paranoid) used that service for their first purchase from us . After that , they stop using it of course :)

    Hi there,
I’m going to be stopping over in K.L. for a couple of nights in July this year. I am staying in the Bukit Bintang area, very close to Low Yat Plaza.

I want to shop for some guitar effects pedals, like Digitech RP1000, Boss G-10, ME-70, or Line6 X3 Live. That kind of gear …
Can anyone tell me a really good shop or shopping complex close by Low Yat Plaza (or if I can get this type of gear in Low Yat ?) so I can buy some stuff ?

Much appreciated. I won’t have a lot of time to travel around K.L, so would like to be able to shop close by that area.

    Thanks for any help.

    (from New Zealand).

I am just window shopping for a job as a sales man .Played the guitag for 25 years in the pubs in India now setteled in Malaysia .After a long service at delifrance foods Malaysia as a packer I worked at Carismen Dolce music shop at sri hartamas .Now I am 61 years but still going strong I play western light music and also the digital piano with ACM. I speak english well and can forward My expertise on the aucostic and classical guitars .It is not product name or cost of an instrument that gives the value of an instrument but the general sales that catagorises and popular sales names that carry the weight of being of best choise. But with a little advice on instrument conception can change or convince the buyer into investing on a lower quality instrument for which it is worth just as well .I have seen the best kinds crack or grow stiff and brittle for not being in use or played .Just vigorus playing on the instrument alone can bring about a complete quality uplift on the instrument. It is the same with the cheap models in the market.Except for bad workmanship any guitar would sound just as well .It is the musician who plays not the instrument or the wood it is made off.But the belief of a popular musicians oppinion is taken for granted by the general public and the pride to hold an expensive instrument without even knowing how well to play it, is the trend of the times.Who ever plays the guitar for 12 to 18 or 24 hours a day, if you do know someone like that which I am sure you haven”t. For him all guitars are the same except for the designs. In the beginning there was only one type of guitar and all had to play it .But now the classic guitar player simply strugles with an acoustic .And they cant conceptualise palying a violin with guitar strings .The audience don’t come out and say your guitar sounds like a violin do they.Well since the division of the different types of guitars that are in the market today is the cause of the poor concept of music itself. This you can visualise in the the project “Malaysian Idol’. How come they came today but draw a larger crowd than the ones who have been in the profession for ages .That is the way people are today .If you are not good looking then you dont know how to play .People do not hear music ,but merely come to see the the glare and sparkle of lights and noise .Simple logic says that large crowds distort the music and turns the musician into an actor acting his part as a performer and nothing more .These are the great musicians of today.

Yo man, I just thought I’d let you know that your website is running very slowly. If you’re looking for a fast WordPress host then I recommend I’ve been using them for a few years and they are faultless, especially for the price. They also have WordPress on their 1-click installer if you have any other blogs ;-) Take care!
