Fresh Meat

This past few months , i realized there are MANY fresh graduates out there , looking for their dream jobs .

Its like millions of sperm fighting for the ovum. Competing & killing each other . Good thing i wasn’t born at the same time .
Given our current economic situation , you fresh grads should seriously chill about being demanding . The demand is growing , the supplies are limited . So Chill . Not every business is doing well . Think for the company , not just yourself .

Actually , i already expected this fun fest to happen.
You see , what is happening now ..is the kids , born in 1988 turning 23 . They are graduating .
Apparently , there are SHITLOADS of kids born in the year of 1988 . I also don’t know why.

Maybe its the year of dragon.
Maybe its the year your parents boycott condoms .
Maybe its the year where its cool to start a family .

So yeah , weird thing is ..many fresh meat called me up for a drink . Asking me opinions about this job , that job and stuff .
Most of them already made up their mind , they just want the “reassurance” . I am totally cool with that .
Also , i don’t know why many young people like to seek for my advice. I am not a good adviser , i am not that capable , and i am not that smart too .
Maybe its because i can talk alot of cock . They just want some entertainment .

So today , this blog post is about the ultimate gapnap advice - for fresh meats ! psss , sorry to disappoint you , i only have one advice .

Before we get to the ultimate advice . Can we get over a few issues first ? I will do it real quickly …

1.What job suits me?
You create your reality . You create your best job . Lazy elaborate . You’re a fresh grad you can figure it out .

2.I will always pick time , over money – so just pay that RM1.50 toll . Its painful , but it is worth it .

3.I will always pick lifestyle , over money – please don’t drive one an a half hour to work , just because they pay RM500 more.

4.When investing : Don’t buy when you’re excited .

5.To the sales man : Don’t sell when you’re scared .

6.I don’t know what i want in life – then , go travel . tour Africa , backpack in Europe and find yourself . Stop asking questions , just do it .

7.The Classic : Its not what you know , but who you know – is too shallow . You can know the whole world alright , but if the whole world thinks you’re a joke , then you’re a joke . Its better to work on “what you know” in that situation . The important thing about who you know , is – are you able to inspire them ? If you can’t , your contacts are useless for now . Maybe in the future .

8.You can’t conquer the whole world . You cannot have everything . You are not super man . You cannot handle everything . You can be great in a few things , but not everything . 

Make decisions , choose . Don’t say you want the best of both sides . End of the day , you lose everything .

9.Money cannot earn finish . Take a break . A break is more expensive than that extra RM2000 .

10.To the entrepreneur : Just like me . i know you have big dreams . RM300,000 start up capital for F&B business , fitness center , whatever brilliant ideas you have. Sorry to break this to you , from an investor’s point of view , all you can offer is a damn good idea . It doesn’t carry much value . You’re going to need more than an idea . If an investor were to invest RM300,000 on you . Chances are , he will be the major share holder . 75% – 25% , 80%- 20% or something . In the end , you don’t have much power . You don’t feel like its your own business . It more like you are working for your investor .

Traditional method works best .Work hard , Save up your first RM30,000 . Start small with RM30,000 . Let the money grow to RM300,000 . That time , investors will find you . 

Okay , i know many of this points are debatable . But this is my believe system . Of course i know i am not 100% right .
We can debate about this during our teh tarik sessions , but we are not here for this .

So yeah , back to my ultimate advice..

…the ultimate gapnap advice for fresh grads is - 

start a blog 

or a journal , diary …whatever it is , just write something , blog about what you think , always have an opinion .
Listen , One of the beauties in life – is the journey . Many people do not understand this .
You are going through a different stage in your life . A stage where you cannot take things for granted , a stage where you have to be independent , stand firm on your ground and show the world what you can do . Tell them who you really are .

YOU MUST record this part of your life . All Your thoughts . your ideas . your dreams.

Believe me , 3 years down the road , when you read back what you wrote ..
You will be surprized how much you’ve grown ..You will be surprised how far you’ve come .

From a young man who wanted to conquer the world , to who you are today .

.
You will appreciate your old ambitions & your old dreams .
You will appreciate what your mama and papa told you when you were 18 .
You now understand what money is . How much is one million .And its not easy to get there .
You will appreciate the stupid mistake u made 2 years ago . You become who you are today .
You see how your “close friend” is not really a true friend . You learn to protect yourself from them .
You make real friends . You meet the love of your life .

The world is complicated , but what matters is ..you become all you can be .
You find out who you really are . Your calling . Your purpose in life .

All these , are beautiful moments in your life . It is historical for you . The journey of watching yourself grow , seeing the real world , changing your perspectives . Beautiful isn’t it ? Don’t waste it !
Personally , i enjoy reading all my old blog post . Seeing the stupid things i did , the things i wanted to do but didn’t kick off , and i wonder..“what if?” , or “wow , how the heck did i went through that!”

Okay , i know blogging is no longer a trend these days .
So what if the blogging community is dying ?
So what if nobody reads ?
Very hard to blog ?
Writing what you think is easy . really .
i know many blogs are closing down , don’t worry . i am not closing mine ..for me , my blog is beautiful , its my journey . Its me .
