Brick & Mortar

I was browsing Timothy Tiah’s Blog and i found an interesting post .

http://timothytiah.com/2012/02/21/brick-mortar/

I like Timothy Tiah. He’s one of the guys that made a difference in the Malaysian Blogging scene . Hopefully , one day our path will cross and i will get to meet him in person .
Timothy Tiah briefly talked about internet business vs brick and mortar business , he wonders what its like to own a brick and mortar business .

Well , i can say that i am the guy who started out with internet business , and move on to brick and mortar .

(Not comparing Music Master with Nuffnang , i mean …we’re so different . Firstly , Nuffnang is much bigger than Music Master . Secondly , we sell physical products and they sell virtual products)

Sometimes i wonder ,

What if – I didn’t start Music Master and remain as a pure internet seller .  How different will it be ?

Will i take up a full time job , and sell musical instruments part time ?

Will i make it to the international online market, attracting buyers from all over the world – Europe , Australia and USA .

Will i succeed in my full time corporate job , and stop selling guitars ?

End of the day , i have no regrets . I believe in my vision and i will continue to strive forward .

Music Master may be a small , but we have big visions and dreams .

Malaysia’s music scene has changed so much over the past 4 years . I believe the Music Master Revolution has made a difference .

It is a sickness that keeps growing . It never stops .

It is time to bring the Music Master Revolution to another part of Malaysia . (Hint – The journey to the East )

Don’t know what kinda brand is this …
.

My thoughts :

Firstly , i think their imported goods are quite pricey . Maybe to protect their own local brand?

What is popular in Seoul ?

Looks like acoustic guitars are extremely popular . I was there for about 5-6 hours i’ve seen countless of Crafter acoustic guitars being sold , as for electric guitar stuffs …the specialized shops are always empty ..like nobody is interested in it?

The other thing is , i realized many people are into music here .

Unlike Malaysia , you typically find most guitarist are – Male , age 16-35 .

In Korea , you find plenty of female guitarist ..from 5-6 years old all the way to 70 years old . (Or maybe i am not looking hard enough in Malaysia)

The general ratings :

Selection of gear 4/10 .

Prices 2/10 .

Culture 9/10 .

Customer service 6/10

Trustworthiness/Reputation of most shops 8/10
